Our project involved a major backyard renovation requiring a complete tear out of our existing yard, planning, design and construction of the new yard. This includes a spa, pool, raised concrete deck with a stone veneer face and a grand brick entry, a decorative brick and stone fireplace mantle, beautiful brick and stone outdoor shower with two shelves for soap and shampoo, a large masonry bench with acid stained concrete top located across the shower, a two level yard with beautiful accent brick and 3-Rivers stone edges, a fire pit and another masonry bench for a sitting around the fire pit, all new landscaping, plants, watering system, and a drainage system throughout the backyard, lighting, wood and iron fence & rails. As you can see, this was a massive renovation for us.

We contracted with Geoff in April 2010 to help design, coordinate, and build this major backyard renovation. This job entailed creating a backyard Oasis which we now fully enjoy. We were given Geoff’s name as a recommendation from our neighbor who was also very happy with his work ethic. In addition to all stone work, Geoff helped manage and coordinate each phase of our project. He was open and accepted our input at various stages, he exhibited pride in his word, he follows through continuously, even after the completion of the project he has been back to complete minute details.

During this project, l also encountered contractors who low-bid a job in order to obtain it, later to require a “Change Order.’ That was not the case with GPT. He did not exceed the terms of the contract, nor impose change orders without mutual agreement with us in advance. I do not give my recommendation lightly. Geoff and his team have integrity and are very trustworthy.

We started the project at the end of April 2010 and finished by the first week of August 2010, a very short time considering the magnitude of our renovation. Geoff is credited with maintaining a timely schedule of all facets involved. We are very pleased with the result as well as the entire experience of working with Geoff and his crew. We hope that this letter assists your evaluation when considering Geoff as your contractor for masonry or coordinator.

l am writing this letter as a testimonial to you and your company. In the summer of 2012 your company made an outdoor kitchen for my family. We came to you with a design for an outdoor kitchen to include a fireplace and a pizza oven.

You brought back a drawing with all our ideas and a proposal for the cost of our project.

When we accepted your proposal your crew started the project when you stated.
Your crew was polite and cleaned up after every work day. My family and I were pleased with your skills as a mason and your perfectionism. Our outdoor kitchen is not only user friendly but a beautiful addition to our home.

The pizza oven is probably the coolest part of the kitchen. I have cooked not
only pizzas but enchiladas, roasts, bread and even a Thanksgiving turkey. Once the pizza oven is up to temperature the oven keeps its heat and I have been able to cook cinnamon rolls the following morning.

The fireplace is a fantastic gathering place to sit and talk with family and friends.

GPT Construction worked with Poseidon Pools and completed the brick surround
and accent wall on our pool thus tying the kitchen to the pool on opposite sides of the backyard.

We have been so pleased with GPT Construction and Geoff’s skills as a mason
that we had him make two retaining walls and a couple of planter beds after he completed our kitchen.

I would happily recommend GPT Construction and Geoff Thomas for any outdoor
kitchen and masonry needs, his work is professional and beautiful. Geoff
completed the project on time, and most importantly on budget.

Geoff Thomas, owner-operator of GPT Construction is very detail oriented. You will first see this in his bid letter which sets the precedent from there on out. His scheduling is tight and he is very communicable every step of the way letting you know what is happening and how everything is going to play out. He is also very verbal with his crew similar to that of a coach making sure his team stays in constant sync. On most jobs there are minor “unexpecteds” … now matter how small he can see things before they happen and will let you know what can be done before he takes action so there is never any surprises. Geoff is very organized and clean. When these guys clean up at the end of the day, there is not much evidence they’ve been there other than the work that has been done.

There is nobody in our area that that will take the time or has the know how to integrate beauty and structural integrity into their work like Geoff does to ensure that the final product will be as strong as it is attractive.

As a swimming pool contractor who takes a lot of pride in what I do and strives to make customers happy, I highly recommend GPT Construction to anyone who requires a (true) mason. When Geoff and his crew are on the job, I am at ease. Geoff’s phase is extremely important to me because it’s like the icing on the cake… it’s what everybody sees. I know if I finish off one of my projects with GPT Construction, I can’t go wrong and we will get direct referral work out of it every time.

We chose GPT construction for our outdoor kitchen project.  As soon as I  met Geoff Thomas (owner) his passion and professionalism were evident.  We researched pre-built outdoor kitchens and got several quotes, but Geoff explained his process and the quality associated with a masonry build and we knew right away GPT Construction was the right company to choose.  

Geoff is extremely thorough and detailed from the bid process to the final build.  He took time to explain what the process entailed, and provided consulting to make sure the design met our needs.  Geoff paid close attention to detail during the build, making sure the final product was of the highest quality.  We could not be more pleased with the final result!  It is a beautiful addition to our yard, and the quality is absolutely top notch.

The timing of our project completion was close to the end of summer 2016, but we have used it almost daily even in the cold weather (recently had a super bowl party in the cold and everyone was outside around the outdoor kitchen!).  We have gotten many compliments on the design and the quality.  

There were no surprises, no hidden costs, no cut corners, and no issues at any point during the project.  It was refreshing to have a contractor who is honest, trustworthy, proficient, and executes flawlessly.  Geoff and crew showed up on time, were friendly and professional, kept the work area very tidy, and completed everything as they committed to (details and timeline).  I highly recommend GPT Construction to anyone who is looking to do a masonry project.
